#FunFact: The Foxborough State Hospital Assembly Building on Payson Road was built in 1935 with assistance from the Federal Public Works Administration. It was connected to the main building by a tunnel under Payson Road. Construction began around 1934 and, according to the Foxborough State Hospital Trustees 1935 Annual Report, was scheduled to be completed by the beginning of 1936. The Assembly Building was used as an assembly hall, theater, and worship space and Foxborough’s Jaycees later used it for their Haunted House.
