John Brayton, William Richmond, William Wood, Hezekiah Anthony, and others formed the company (also known as Brayton Cotton Manufacturing Company) to make cotton yarn and cloth. They purchased Oliver Capen’s gun making factory on the south side of West Street and erected a few more buildings nearby.
The Foxborough Cotton Manufacturing Company failed about 1820. The company was dissolved by Chapter 327 of the Acts of 1873, which was approved on June 2, 1873.
